Equipped with an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age; a university education; twenty plus years in the tourism industry with prestigious appointments to national and provincial boards; and a bit of creativity; Gina Noordof’s destiny was to write Puffin Playing by the Sea - The Twelve Days of Christmas. Inspiration and encouragement from friends, family and colleagues have helped her pursue this idea, and other long-term ideas that will help young and old learn about the history of where they visit while staying entertained. Gina’s home is nestled in a meadow, tucked into a beachside hill on the shore of the Great Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland and Labrador. As owner of the Norseman restaurant, Annie retreat vacation rental and Gaia art gallery with her husband Adrian in L’Anse aux Meadows, she is no stranger to
enchanting and diverse cultural traditions. So much so, that she plans to create a series of children’s books following the success of A Puffin Playing by the Sea - The Twelve Days of Christmas in Newfoundland and Labrador, to showcase the diversity of Canada.
The Viking spirit of adventure lives on today in Gina and her husband. When not busy ordering, marketing and booking for the next tourism season, the couple and their young children spend a large part of the year travelling. They frequent tourist destinations, restaurants and galleries throughout Canada and abroad to learn more about other cultures. And fellow world travelers return the favor: adventurers from around the world visit their home in L’Anse aux Meadows to seek a unique travel experience.
When not traversing the world, Gina spends her time living between St. John’s and L’Anse aux Meadows with her husband Adrian and their two children.
